Labradorite pendant on gold plated brass with a bronze-tone brass chain.
I made this piece as part of a series of labradorite pendants inspired by classical art and women classical history and mythology.
I called this piece Dido, after the queen of Carthage and lover of Aeneas in Virgil's Aeneid, the mythic founder of Rome. Dido was a strong and beautiful queen but her romance with Aeneas had tragic consequences.
This is the most romantic piece in the series. The light blue stone with dashes of orange in its flash give it a youthful majesty.
Labradorite is the stone of the visionary, the psychic, the seer. It is a useful accessory for tarot readers and users of all divinatory methods as it inspires the intuitions.
