The Ankh is a symbol from ancient Egypt, used widely in art and on amulets. It was often depicted in the hands of the gods or pharaohs and may have been a symbol of initiation. The symbol is thought to represent life, with the feminine creative force and the masculine represented by the loop and the cross respectively. It seems to have been viewed as a key, perhaps to between the realms of the living and the dead, with many images showing a figure looking through the loop perhaps into the invisible world. It is also thought to have been used in necromancy to revive the dead. 
 
 
 
Black Obsidian is a powerful protection stone. It is like an energetic vacuum cleaner, ridding the atmosphere of negative emotions, resentments and psychic 'junk', anger, greed and fear. It seals the aura against psychic attacks, negative attachments and the hooks and cords that allow negative people to have a hold on us.
